Rise and Shine: Living Life in Christ’s Light!

I had a recent encounter with God. A few nights ago, I felt prompted to fast and pray, but I did not want to. I did NOT pray when I was supposed to, AND I ate dinner. Without going into details about why I made that decision (which was reasonable in my opinion), within a short time of eating, my stomach rejected its dinner!
So you can imagine, after this, I was like, “Okay, God, you have my attention now! I’m listening.” During my personal prayer time with Him, He spoke to me and told me to share this with His people. I can share much about what the Holy Spirit taught me in this episode of ‘doing my own thing’, but I would save that for another time. The message I shared below was a blessing and wake-up call for me, and hopefully, it will minister to you, too.

God’s message to us

Ephesians 4: 14- 17 (NLT)

For the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said,
“Awake, O sleeper,
    rise up from the dead,
and Christ will give you light.”

So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.  Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.  Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.  “

It’s time to wake up, oh sleeper! How long will you keep your eyes closed? How long will you remain in your slumber? What are you waiting for?

Arise! Open your eyes! Come forth! May the scales fall from your eyes!

Acts 9:18 NLT- Instantly, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized. “

Can you not see the light? Why do you ignore it? Why do you run away from it? Aren’t I a lamp unto your feet, a light unto your path?

Psalms 119:105 (NLT)- Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. “

Why do you not trust me? Don’t I have great plans for you?

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)- For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Cast all your cares and burdens on me.

Matthew 11: 28-30 (NLT)- Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

You are never alone. I walk with you. I talk with you, but do you listen?

I am right there with you. I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)- The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
